Mark Astrom (b. Miami, Florida 1977) is an artist based in Gainesville, Florida.
His work weaves in and out of American middle-class identity, testing ideas of want, aspiration, failure, migration, and reinvention.
As he and his subjects evolve, Mark thinks about gravity pulling time forward:
What do we keep?
What do we let go?
What can we absorb?
What do we reject?
Astrom received a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Fine Arts from Gettysburg College and an MFA, focusing on Photography from The School of Visual Arts in New York.
